At SGS, the safety and care of your horse is our main concern...  here are just some of the precautions we take to ensure the protection of your horse
All boarded horses get a "4 Corner" check everyday...  A staff member will check eyes, legs & feet, body, and skin condition.   We will let you know immediately if there is a problem.
Our equestrian facility is double-fenced with 3-board & 4-board oak fencing to prevent any horse from leaving the property (under their own power)
There are no metal posts or barbed wire used anywhere there are horses on the property
All fields are rotated for overseeding and to break any parasitic lifecycle
There are automatic electric gates at the entrance and to the stable grounds to the property so that any horse that gets loose cannot leave the property and become injured (work in progress)
Owners live on the property and conduct “bed check” nightly
Fulltime Barn Manager and caretakers on property every day
Horse trailer is always on property in case emergency transportation to a medical center is required
All feeding, supplement, medicine, deworming, farrier, and turnout schedules are posted and reviewed daily
Deworming is required for the health of ALL horses at SGS
Inoculations (including coggins) is required for ALL horses at SGS
No pressure-treated wood (arsenic) is used in any area where horses are present
All fields and paddock fencing have been designed without square corners to eliminate the "trapped horse" syndrome
All barns have been constructed with 12' and 16' aisles for safe turnaround and passing horses
No tack trunks or equipment are stored in the barn and stall areas to maintain a clear path for horses
All Stall lights have protective metal covers to prevent breakage
All electrical wiring is contained in metal conduit
All stalls and aisles are rubber matted for comfort and safety of your horse
