Valerie Lowe

Specializing in Hunter, Jumper & Equitation Disciplines

Val's Experience…

Val started her professional career after graduating from William Woods University in 1993, with a degree in Equestrian Science. She then went to work for Linda McClaren at Ponca Hills Farm. At Ponca, she got her start teaching lessons of all ages, breaking & starting all the young horses and assisted with taking students to horse shows.

In 1994 and 1995, Val worked as the at home instructor/manager for Kappler Farms in Barrington, Illinois.

Val’s ambition to run her own business prompted her to be one of the founders of Simple Pleasures Farm, which was started in 1995. It is there she spent the next seven and a half years developing a group of horses and riders that became successful competitors on the “AA” circuit with numerous wins and tri colors.

In 2002, Val moved to Jackson, Mississippi, and began training the students and horses that would eventually become Providence Hill Farm. Over the next 4 years, Val helped train and prepare the horses for Providence Hill Farm. Val remained there until Nov. of ’06 when she accepted the position of trainer for StoneGate Stables, LLC and moved  to the heart of Virginia horse country.

In May of 2007, Val decided it was time to be on her own and began training under the banner of Val Lowe Training. Val chose to run her training business from StoneGate Stables so she could continue working with her former SGS customers. Val is currently accepting new horses and riders into her training program for 2008.
