Jeff's riding philosophy and direction has led students to many Zone 3 Year End Tri Colors in Medium Pony, Large Green Pony, Large Pony, Children’s, Adult Amateur and Amateur Owner Hunters. He has also coached numerous students to year end tricolors for HITS Circuit awards, VHSA, VPBA, MHSA and NCHJA awards in both hunters and jumpers and has had several horses and/or ponies finish in the top 5 of the USEF Year End Rankings. Training at StoneGate Stables (SGS) covers a wide variety of levels and options depending on the age, experience level and objectives of the rider.  The basic lesson will cover the areas discussed between the trainer and the rider prior to beginning the lessonFor beginning riders the discussion and lesson will include learning about basic horse safety, horse care and management, safety, feeding, basic veterinary care, hoof care, grooming, saddling, leading the horse, riding exercises in the arena.

For intermediate and advanced riders the discussion and lesson will cover riding skills and the conditioning and performance of the horse as well as any horsecare issues of which the rider may be concerned. Classes are geared to the individual rider’s ability and objectives.
